Nusenda Credit Union and the Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation are highlighting Volcano Vista High School senior Elliot Paskett-Bell as the APS Student of the Week.

Paskett-Bell, along with all the other winners, will be recognized by the APS Board of Education at the end of the school year. It was a really good week for Paskett-Bell, who plays quarterback for the football team and led the Hawks to a 52-29 win over Eldorado in the Hawks homecoming game Friday.

Schools are selected at random to choose a Student of the Week. An effort is made to feature students from all zones and at every level each month. The task of selecting the Student of the Week falls to the principal, who often seeks staff nominations.

What Elliot likes about school: I like to learn new things in any subject.

Favorite subject: Government because I like learning about our country and its laws and rules within.

Hobbies and activities: I play football for the school, and I like being outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, etc.

Plans for the future: Attend college and make the best of my opportunities.
