Here’s our Monday rundown of everything you need to know for the week of Dec. 19-25.

The weather: Christmas is less than a week away but, sadly, it won’t be a white Christmas this year. Sunday is expected to be the warmest day of the week with a projected high of 51.

 

Here’s what is happening in Albuquerque this week

  • The Central & Unser Library is hosting a Gingerbread Extravaganza from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The free event will let kids ages 6-17 build their own gingerbread house and ages 5 and under decorate their own gingerbread man. The whole family is invited for this fun and creative holiday tradition.
  • You can have breakfast and dinner with an Albuquerque Police Department officer Tuesday. APD’s Coffee with a Cop event is scheduled for 8-9 a.m. at the Chick Fil A at 3801 Ellison NW. Pizza with Police is set for 7-8 p.m. at Dion’s on Central.
  • Family & Community Services and Senior Affairs is throwing its annual Holiday Party Thursday at Cesar Chavez Community Center. The free party will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature music, food, raffles and games.
  • Taylor Ranch Library is inviting your family to celebrate the Winter Solstice Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. Families will make hanging snowflake decorations at the free event.
  • Santa Claus himself is landing at the Albuquerque Sunport Thursday. Santa will be in the Sunport Great Hall from 1-3 p.m. to take pictures, give presents and enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies.
